While the Performance Imperative (PI) is geared toward nonprofits with budgets over $3 million, we believe that it applies (at least conceptually) to all organizations. Leadership, management, program design, financial health, culture, internal monitoring, and evaluation are all (to varying degrees) important—no matter your sector, domain, size, stage of organizational growth, or role.
To help advance the promotion and adoption of the PI beyond its primary audience, we believe 1) an explanation for why it’s of particular value to a specific audience; and 2) suggestions for how leaders can put it to use in their unique context are important. Kickstarters are tailored to “speak the language” of the audience they are trying to reach and reflect a genuine understanding of their perspective.
To get started, we’re introducing Kickstarters for faith-based and healthcare organizations (two domains in which Leap Ambassadors support team members have particularly strong relationships and expertise):
We envision the community and others developing Kickstarters for a range of other audiences, including:
While each Kickstarter will be unique, it’s essential that the PI remain as the North Star, given our larger objective of establishing the definition and framework for “high-performance organizations” more broadly across the social and public sectors.
We hope you’ll join us in learning more about how to increase the PI’s adoption and usefulness, thus benefiting a larger number of people and causes served.
