With the participation of great nonprofit leaders, we're building a gallery of short clips on core concepts of high performance. We've found clips like these to be helpful for making the case with colleagues, board members, and funders for investing in high performance.

We encourage you to lift or mash up these clips for conference presentations, board retreats, video-enhanced blogs, or any other other use. If you use the clips, please let us know what you created and how it went over. And, of course, we'd love to see any clips that you think we should feature on this site. Internal Monitoring for Continuous Improvement

High performance management systems don’t just drive good outcomes, but also show over time that the organization is getting better at achieving those outcomes.

As a schoolteacher in Washington, DC in 2008, Nick Ehrmann started using statistics packages to measure core academic outcomes of different student groups, and couldn’t believe what he didn’t see.

It wasn’t until they looked at the data before staffers at Domus Kids truly understood the depth of the difference they were making in their students’ lives.

Before taking a more rigorous approach to performance measurement, most of the initial 89 indicators were “just a bunch of numbers on a piece of paper that made us feel good.”
